Episode 144: Playing Han Solo

Chris: “Lyal, Can I play Batman in your DC game. Batman with a Scottish accent. ‘Ach. Ay’m the heerooo this city deserves, ya wee lass.'”
Lyal: “Wow. I’m not looking forward to that, but sure. Wayne?”
Wayne: “Hmm, maybe Sen … Sensible … Sensual … Sen … tence. Centennial. The Centennial.”
Lyal: “The Sentry. Wrong universe. How about Superman?”
Wayne: “No thanks. I do like Spee … Speeder … Speederma … Spice. Spicer … Spicerman …”
Lyal: “Spider-Man. Wrong universe, again.”

In this episode, we discuss the advantages of playing iconic characters as well as retelling classic or not so classic stories. Also, listen to find out what all the fuss about Sparks Nevada is.

Episode 8: The Art of Seduction

You’d think that a bunch of guys who spend their weekends playing games would have nothing to say about seduction. Well, you’d be wrong. You’d think that a bunch of (mostly) heterosexual guys coming on to each across a table would get awkward. Well, you’d be right.

In this episode, we discuss how to incorporate romance and seduction into your games.

“Interesting” was apparently Lyal’s word of the day. He has since bought a thesaurus.

Episode 5: Identity Crisis!

Episode 5 takes a look at playing different ethnicities, cultures and genders than your own. We discuss what we consider important in creating, playing, and GMing very different characters. Even if, apparently, all of Lyal’s characters are sarcastic, all of Chris’ are Scottish, and Wayne’s are accidentally bi.

We also touch on the use of voices, playing non-humans (slightly), and the current competition for top-sexy.

Thank you to everyone who’s offered feedback and comments here, on facebook, and by email! We love affirmation!

Episode 1: I got your backSTORY

Character Creation: Take 2. Practice may not have made perfect in this case, but it’s certainly a lot better than our initial effort. You’re welcome!
In this episode, we discuss what should go into making a character, from the Yujiro’s “Your character in 60 seconds or less” to Lyal’s “Research and Ride-alongs”. Wayne makes a joke that he then needed to explain to Lyal after the episode. (It still wasn’t funny.)

A big thank you to Chris for working so hard to improve the sound quality.
